After facing backlash for allegedly pushing a fellow model on the ramp at a fashion event, actor Nushrratt Bharuccha has finally addressed the controversy. In a new interview with Yuvaa, she clarified what really happened and set the record straight.

The viral video showed Nushrratt making her way to the centre of the ramp by gently moving another model aside. At the end of the runway, she appeared to reposition a fellow model before calling two others to pose beside her—ultimately blocking the first model from view. The moment triggered a wave of backlash online, with many accusing Nushrratt of displaying unnecessary ‘attitude’ during the show.




“She Wasn’t Even a Model”
Addressing the backlash, the actress clarified that the person she moved aside wasn’t a professional model but one of the student designers from the NIF class who was unfamiliar with ramp etiquette. She explained that with loud music and backstage instructions to take her position at the centre, she simply followed protocol. Nushrratt added that it wasn’t about being a showstopper—any model knows the basics of walking to the centre, pausing, and turning back, which is standard runway practice.

Meanwhile, Nushrratt was last seen in Chhorii 2, directed by Vishal Furia. A sequel to the 2021 horror film Chhorii, the film was produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, and Jack Davis. It also starred Soha Ali Khan, Gashmeer Mahajani, and Saurabh Goyal. While both Soha and Nushrratt earned praise for their performances, some viewers were left disappointed by the film’s lack of effective jump scares. Chhorii 2 is currently streaming on Prime Video. Nushrratt has not yet announced her next project.
