Not just Bob Biswas but these characters also deserve a spin-off of their own

With the on-going trend of sequels and remakes taking over the makers of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan shocked the entire nation on Monday afternoon when he took to social media to announce his production house's next project. Collaborating with Abhishek Bachchan, SRK announced that his production house will be making a film on the character of Bob Biswas which featured in Vidya Balan's 2012 hit flick 'Kahaani'. While the role in the film was essayed by Saswata Chatterjee, the character of went on to become popular on social media with his 'Nomoshkar, Ek minute' trademark dialogue giving way to several memes. So here's a look at popular characters from Bollywood who can have their spin-off of their own.

Chand Nawab from 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'

The Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer also featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Chand Nawab, a Pakistani journalist which was based on a real-life person with the same name. While Chand Nawab fails as an onfield reporter his liveliness and big-heartedness won over the audience. Helping Bajrangi help a small girl reunite with her family in Pakistan, Chand Nawab turns out to be one of Bajrangi's biggest help in fulfilling the task and Nawaz's on-screen persona too left the audience wanting for more of his popular character.

Veronica from 'Cocktail'

Deepika Padukone needs no introduction and her free-spirited and fun-loving girl Veronica Malaney character from 'Cocktail' won over the audience. While the mesmerising diva shared the screen with Saif Ali Khan and Diana Penty, she grabbed all the limelight single-handedly with her impressive performance. Not only that but the film turned out to be one of Deepika's career-changing film as it brought her on the radar of many ace filmmakers.

Kattappa from 'Baahubali'

Popular south actor Sathyaraj is a well-known actor and director, who has his roots based in Tamil cinema but has also featured in several other films from other regions as well. One of his popular character of Kattappa from the magnum opus 'Baahubali' series won over the audience for his dedication towards the thrown. The skilful warfare abilities and a faithful-loyal servant of the Mahishmathi kingdom, Kattappa's spin-off could really turn out to be an interesting project. Before the release of the second instalment of the 'Baahubali' franchise, the biggest question of 'Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali' had got each and every citizen of the nation wondering.

Vicky Sandhu from 'Manmarziyaan'

Abhishek Bachchan returned to the celluloid after a break with Anurag Kashyap's 'Manmarziyaan' and managed to impress the audience by collaborating with powerhouses like Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal. While Abhishek-Taapsee managed to bring their A-game on display, it was Vicky, who stole the thunder with his sheer brilliance. The funky hairstyles and that true outgoing Punjabi-munda feels was loved by the audience. While Taapsee ends up choosing marriage over love, in the end, how does Vicky's character evolve could be an interesting option for a spin-off.

MC Sher from 'Gully Boy'

With reports of a spin-off on the cards, Siddhant Chaturvedi aka MC Sher, who played Ranveer Singh aka Murad/Gully Boy's mentor in 'Gully Boy' may soon step into the shoes of his famous character once again. Producer Ritesh Sidhwani and director Zoya Akhtar are planning to make a spin-off on MC Sher's character as it was one of the most lovable characters from the film which grabbed a lot of eyeballs. While no official announcement has been made yet, fans are surely eager to see Siddhant flaunt his rapping skills MC Sher once again.
