Nominations for Z-Gold music awards announced

new york: leading musicians kumar sanu, udit narayan and hariharan have been nominated by non-resident indians for the best singer z-gold bollywood music awards to be presented on november 10. kavita krishnamurty, asha bhosle and alka yagnik have been nominated for the best female singer slot. the winner will be chosen by an experts panel. the awards committee had polled nris for over several weeks and top three choices were nominated in each category. the nominations for the best music director included a. r. rahman for lagaan, anu malik for yaadein and a.r. rahman for zubeida. kumar sanu for tum dil ki dhadkan in dhadkan, udit narayan for main nikla in gadar and hariharan for yaadein in yaadein were nominated for the best male singer slot. those nominated for the 'best singer female' category include kavita krishnamurty for dhime dhime in zubeida, asha bhosle for yeh raste hain pyar ke from yeh raste hain pyar ke, alka yagnik for raadha kaise na jale for the blockbuster lagaan. nominations for the besr ghazal artiste include jagjit singh for alana, pankaj udhas for ghunghat, and talat aziz for khubsoorat.
