As Agent Vinod releases in theatres and garners mixed reviews - more bad than good - the makers, Sriram Raghavan and Saif Ali Khan are already talking about a sequel to the motion picture. Although box office results indicate that Agent Vinod may not even break even given it's large canvas and exorbitant budget in which it it was made, Saif and team seem to be portraying quite an unperturbed and confident front and even hinting to the possibilities of a sequel.
Sriram Raghavan said, "We are working on an idea and will be making one more Agent Vinod film. The idea had always been to see Vinod in the midst of different adventures in different countries.Luckily for us,the film had an encouraging opening.Maybe in a month,I will start working on another film for the franchise. However,it's too early to say anything."
Raghavan seems to have chosen his words carefully by saying 'it's too early to say anything', for if sources are to believed given the dismal performance of the movie, there is going to be no sequel to Agent Vinod. Apparently, plans of a sequel depended on the success of this one. Raghavan also admitted that he has learnt some lessons the hard way while making Agent Vinod.
So while spirits are being precieved as high with the announcement of a sequel, the proposition seems to be an even riskier one. What could be on the agenda next, however, is produicng some humble budget project that boasts of a good script and unique storyline.
