No relief yet for Producer Prerna Arora after spending 23 days inside the jail

Producer Prerna Arora, who has a list of movies to her credit which includes 'Padman' and 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha', continues to be lodged in the jail after 23 days of her arrest. The producer was arrested on December 8 by the Economic Offences Wing for her alleged involvement in a fraud amounting to Rs.16 crore. Prerna owns the production house

which has produced famous films such as 'Rustom', 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha', 'PadMan' and 'Pari.' The producer has been involved in a number of cases which has courted controversies.


According to reports, Arora’s lawyer Rizwan Merchant has been trying his level best to get her released. It is reported that the court will now hear the matter on January 3. Arora’s cheques issued to several have bounced back-to-back.

Prerna Arora and her production house had been involved in many controversies. A company called Padma Ispat had accused Prerna's KriArj entertainment of a monetary fraud amounting to a whopping Rs. 50 crores. Recently, Arora also had a spat with '

' director and producer Abhishek Kapoor, in which she accused the director of excessive wastage of resources.

Apart from this, actor John Abraham's JA Entertainment had also dragged Prerna's company to court. Arora was co-producing John Abraham starrer 'Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran'.
