Tisca Chopra was in Dholpur, Rajasthan for two days to shoot for her upcoming non-fiction TV show. The show, says Tisca, is close to her belief system. “I don’t act in television shows anymore but this one is a non-fiction show. It is different from other non-fiction or reality shows in the sense that it gives hope to people. It tells them that despite all the vicissitudes, they can transform and change their lives.”
The actor, who was staying at the Raj Niwas Palace of the Dholpur Royal family, loved her stay in Rajasthan.
She says, “I love the bright colours that the women of Jaipur wear and it only makes my heart sing. I love the beautiful palaces and the people of the state.” As a child, I have travelled extensively in Rajasthan and I have a lot of friends in Jaipur.”
“I have enough of film work at the moment. Although TV commands huge popularity and all the big stars are working on television these days, one needs a different time structure for it,” Tisca says. Tisca will soon be seen in the film “Love Breakups Zindagi”. “I’m cast opposite Cyrus Sahukar and I play an Urdu professor who is a sassy and gutsy woman and refuses to get married.”
The actress also tells us that Anna Hazare’s fight against corruption has deeply affected her. She relates that she had also been a victim of corruption. “I had to go abroad for a function and since I was informed late, I had passport hassles. When I went to the passport office, the official sitting there asked me to pay an astronomical price to get my passport. However, I refused and instead cancelled my plan,” Tisca recounts. “I’m happy that a wave of nationalism erupted in the nation, thanks to Anna’s campaign. The highlight of this mass campaign was that the upper middle class also reacted strongly. Like Gandhi had said: You have to be the change you have to bring in the society.”
