Actress Nimrat Kaur is set to reunite with Ekta Kapoor after seven years, we have exclusively learnt. The two last collaborated on
The Test Case, which was Ekta’s first digital series to premiere. The series headlined by Nimrat would also feature actress Ridhi Dogra. This will be Ridhi’s yet another project backed by Ekta after
The Married Woman,
The Sabarmati Report, and
Badtameez Dil. The series, which is tentatively titled
Kull, would be directed by Sahir Raza (best known for
The Married Woman,
AISHA).
Nimrat, the daughter of an army officer, expressed immense pride in seeing her father don the olive greens. Playing the role of an army officer in the web series 'The Test Case' felt like a dream come true for her. Initially aspiring to join the army as a child, Nimrat acknowledged the challenges of becoming an army officer and eventually decided to explore other career paths, realizing the difficulty of the profession.
A source from the development sheds light on the series. “It is a drama about a royal family. Nimrat and Ridhi play sisters in the series. The show primarily revolves around who takes the throne,” a little birdie adds. The cast and crew is currently in Bikaner shooting for the series.
Despite repeated attempts Nimrat, Ridhi and Sahir did not respond to the story.
Nimrat was last seen in
Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video and
Dasvi. Earlier in an interview, Nimrat spoke about working on OTT. “I never thought of being an OTT actor or a film actor. It’s just about the subject. At the end of the day you want to watch a good actor in a good story. Whether they are film actors or OTT actors, it does not matter,” Nimrat said in an interview.
In a previous interview, Ridhi spoke about Ekta, and said, “She is the one who has given wings to the women in true sense and she knows how to empower them just by being one herself. I feel really honoured to be the part of a story which is so relevant and if entertainment is supposed to speak for something then this is the such content.”
