In an interview with NDTV, when Nikkhil Advani was asked about releasing the series while movies like 'Dhurandhar' and 'Ikkis' are in theaters, he said, "I didn't know 'Dhurandhar' and 'Ikkis' were going to release the same time around as 'Freedom At Midnight 2'. It's not something we planned when we started four years ago... I haven't seen 'Dhurandhar', and I want to see 'Ikkis'."

The filmmaker was further asked if he wants to watch both movies in theaters. To which, he said, "I believe Dhurandhar is coming on TV; I'll watch it when it comes on TV." He went on to express that the Ranveer Singh-led movie is doing well at the box office and people are loving it. He added, "I think Aditya Dhar is a strong filmmaker and a strong voice."
