Nikita Dutta on participating in a marathon in Andamans!
Seen in films like Kabir Singh and The Big Bull, Nikita Dutta, swapped studio lights for sunlight and cityscapes for seascapes as she headed to the Andamans for an adventure that tested her endurance and courage alike. Nikita spoke to us about running a marathon along one of the most scenic island routes and diving deep into the ocean despite being a non-swimmer.
‘I also felt so much at ease while running since the AQI here is 16’
She said, “It’s my first time in the Andaman’s. The most exciting part of running here was the scenic route. I also felt so much at ease while running since the AQI here is 16. I have always run marathons where I am very familiar with the route. Knowing when the route is going uphill, downhill or flat can really help. That wasn’t the case here.” She added, “The best thing a marathon can teach you is to not give up. I feel that’s a lot like life. With the erratic lives that we actors live, this approach helps in keeping one calm and motivated.”
‘Watching the world under water makes your worries feel non-existent’
This was also the first time she went scuba diving. She shared, “As a non swimmer I am always a bit scared about being under water. We had a short lesson in a pool to understand the dos and donts. While on our way to the diving spot, I could feel my stomach churn with nervousness. There is a whole world out there, which we have no idea about. And watching that makes all your worries feel non-existent. I have to admit that from all the beaches I have seen in India so far, Andaman’s definitely has the cleanest ones.”
