Nick Jonas congratulates Priyanka Chopra, says he’s ‘proud’ of his ‘brilliant wife’

Nick Jonas is a proud husband, as he expressed his pride for his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, after she received an honorary award at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Nick wrote, “What a night it was. Congratulations to all the incredible filmmakers and storytellers honored tonight. And to my brilliant wife for her award this evening. So proud”

At the festival, Priyanka made a stunning appearance on the red carpet, captivating fans who celebrated her with cheers and even sang her popular song 'Desi Girl' from the film 'Dostana' as she arrived. Nick was by her side, showcasing their strong bond, love and support for one another. The award was presented to Priyanka by renowned actor Sarah Jessica Parker, who described it as an honor to recognize Priyanka's achievements.

During her acceptance speech, Priyanka expressed her gratitude towards Sarah and reflected on her journey in the film industry. She stated, “Sarah, you are such an icon to so many of us. Thank you for taking the time to say those kind words about me and my work over the years. It meant a lot to me”.

She also shared her experiences of starting her career at a young age in non-English films and how she faced skepticism about their global reach. “When I started working, I was 18 years old... I remember when I was seeking work across borders, and I was told that non-English films do not travel. Yet, we are here today”.

Priyanka also took a moment to thank several important figures in her life during her speech. She acknowledged Nick's unwavering support: “My wonderful husband is here, waiting to escort me down, the gentleman that he is.” She also paid tribute to her late father, Ashok Chopra, “He showed me how much joy there is in being the person in the middle of a party... He showed me how unabashed entertainment can be”.


In addition to celebrating this milestone, Priyanka is currently busy with various projects. She is filming the second season of 'Citadel,' directed by the Russo Brothers, and has upcoming roles in action-thriller 'Heads of State,' alongside John Cena and Idris Elba, as well as in the period drama 'The Bluff.' Meanwhile, Nick continues to focus on his music career and concert tours.
