Nayanthara has experienced both highs and lows in her acting career. In her newly released Netflix docuseries Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale, the actress shares insights into her professional and personal life. She opens up about the challenging times she faced and how false rumors deeply impacted her and her family.
The actress quickly rose to prominence in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu cinema. As her fame increased, so did the rumors surrounding her personal and professional life. Reflecting on those challenging times, she shared how difficult it was for her parents to see false stories about her in the media. The actress revealed that the constant speculation caused her immense emotional distress, leading her to isolate herself, cry for long periods, and lose her appetite, which was particularly hard for her mother to witness.

At the height of her career, Nayanthara made the surprising decision to quit acting in 2011, facing severe backlash, especially for her portrayal of Sita. During this challenging period, rumors about her personal life also circulated, with many linking her to various people in the industry. As a result, her mother received numerous calls from people advising her to get Nayanthara married, with some even claiming that her career was over. These unsolicited suggestions and concerns about her well-being were difficult for Nayanthara and her family to cope with.

She also shared that it's okay to make mistakes and that you can either stay upset about them or rise above and become so successful that those who were unkind to you regret their actions. Nayanthara chose to rise above. In 2012, she made a powerful comeback and has been successful ever since.
