When questioned about how different is his character of Babu in ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ from that of Faizal Khan in 'Gangs of Wasseypur', the actor said, "This character is very different from the one I had played earlier as Faizal Khan was a very emotional character whereas, on the other hand, Babu doesn't care about any norms and values. Babu is a shameless character with a weird sense of humour."

Talking about his co-star Bidita, Nawaz couldn't stop praising her and revealed that the intimate steamy scene was easy only because of her. "There was a bit of hesitation in the beginning but Bidita made it easy for me. We met each other for the first time on the sets but it was her faith because of which things became comfortable between us and the scenes have come out well in the end," he revealed.

Nawaz who started his career with 1999 'Sarfarosh', followed by many typecasted bit roles, even spoke about nepotism in the film industry. "Nepotism does exist in the industry but at the same time, outside talent is also welcomed but it takes more time for them to get acknowledgement. It's difficult to fulfill your dreams and it does take some time as you have to face difficulties, similarly, the ones coming from the filmy background even they do a lot of hard work and put in a lot of efforts. For example, I recently worked with Tiger Shroff, whose expertise is in dance and action for which he has strived hard for nearly seven to eight years to achieve such perfection. So I feel that those who are hard working, who may or not be from the industry, will surely make a mark and get noticed. Every hard-working person who's deserving must always be given a chance."
