, Nawazuddin Siddiqui had not heard about golf. But when Sohail Khan discussed the story idea with him, Nawazuddin immediately agreed to do the role. In the movie, the actor plays the role of a freaky guy. From selling 'chaddian' to extortion, he does it all with consummate ease and aplomb. And when he finally gets to play golf, he doesn't betray his uneasiness and nervousness for the game as all he has to do is to put the golf in the hole. Nawazuddin is sure that the audience would accept him in this new role which is quite removed from his previous movies. According to the actor, whenever somebody walks up to him with a role which is off the beaten track, he doesn't even think whether or not to accept the role. Such is his passion to play offbeat characters.

When asked to choose his favourite scene in the movie, Nawazuddin says that the scenes where he romances Amy Jackson re really funny. He thanks Sohail for giving him the opportunity to romance on the screen which he generally doesn't get to do.

Nawazuddin is all praise for those who always appreciate his hard work and look forward to watching his movies when they hit the screens. For an actor who got rejected so many times despite his talent knows what it means to be appreciated and feted in an industry where struggle is a way of life. 'I had never thought that I would become such a popular actor one day. And playing a lead role had always been a dream,' says the actor

However, the actor dispels the myth that life for actors is all beer and skittles. According to Nawazuddin, he shot 'Freaky Ali' in 49 degree temperature wearing a sweater. 'Do you think it is so easy doing these roles? If a movie flops, people become judgmental about the actor forgetting the hard work and dedication that go into doing roles in movies,' says Nawazuddin.

So is Nawazuddin a little tense now that his movie is releasing on September 9? 'It happens with every actor. But I am sure the movie has the right cocktail of comedy, romance and simplicity. This is a movie for kids. They will enjoy it like anything,' signs off the actor.
