On Janauary 15, marking the occasion of National Army Day, the veteran actor took to his social media handle to pay a tribute to the bravehearts of the nation with a throwback screengrab of his character from the film ‘Border’.
Saluting Indian Army Sunny paid his tribute to the dedication of the jawans who serve the country even if it needs sacrifice of his or her own family. He tweeted, “Let's remember & salute the bravehearts who lay down their lives for us in the line of defence. Respect to those who are deployed to defend our motherland. Sunny Deol's career. The actor played the role of an Indian army officer, and the character was based on a real-life hero — Brigadier Kuldip Chandpuri.

Utkarsh Sharma will also be reprising their roles in the highly anticipated sequel. Speaking about the sequel to the 2001 blockbuster, Sunny has already said that only a fortunate few get to bring amazing characters like Tara Singh back to life. Both he and Ameesha have been sharing many behind-the-scenes snippets from ‘Gadar 2’ sets, which hit the shooting the floors on December 1 in Palampur.
