Randeep Hooda will be sharing screen space with Naseeruddin Shah nearly after a decade. The last time they shared screen space was in Mira Nair's Monsoon Wedding. Since then, the two have been associated with each other through plays. Randeep has been associated with theatre and his involvement with actor Naseeruddin Shah's theatre group Motley as an actor is known. Presently they will be seen sharing screen space in their second film
John Day being directed by debutant director Ahishor Solomon.
Randeep says that he has been fortunate to get an opportunity to work with Naseeruddin Shah as a co-actor in films and director in plays. "In
John Day he's not the director but a co-actor and that's the biggest difference. Working with him as a co-actor, you have to keep your reverence and at the same time go with the chemistry of the director, whereas in a play it's a long drawn process of finding myself organically since he's the director", says Randeep.
Talking about the difference between Naseer as an actor and Naseer as a director, Randeep says, "What can I say about his acting. He's simply magic. I have been lucky I have done two plays as an actor with him. He is the epitome of acting of all Indian actors. He has directed me in two plays and it's been wonderful. But as a director he is fairly autocratic and in a lighter moment democratic. I don't mind working with an autocratic as long he is sure about what he is doing", concludes Randeep.
