Post the success of Hi Papa and Dasara, actor Nani is back with his latest film Surya’s Saturday. In the film, he plays a character who has anger issues and on his mother’s advice he’s chosen Saturday as the day to vent out his anger.

Over the past few years Telugu Cinema has gained a lot of prominence, not only in India but also in the United States of America. Surya’s Saturday, as per this morning, has collected Rs 1.4 crore for its premiere shows in the USA. Decoding the reason behind it, Nani exclusively told ETimes, “One of the big reasons behind these numbers is a huge Telugu audience living in States and we all are mad about cinema, especially the premiere and first day shows. The euphoria, the madness is on a different level. Also, it's not just love for cinema but also that adrenaline rush, you want to be the first one to watch and tell your friends about it.”

When asked if he feels the pressure given that previous films like RRR, Baahubali, Pushpa and now Kalki 2898 AD, have set a huge benchmark for the films to follow. Nani said , “I'm not looking at Surya’s Saturday as a Pan-India film, in fact it is going to be a limited release in Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. It is for people who want to watch the film in their own language. This is not to make any numbers or to be called a Pan-India film etc. I'm just trying to make the film available to those who have started watching me on OTT or otherwise. A lot of time I get to see the love the North audience or Hindi audience has given me. They really liked my last film Hi Papa and Dasara. So Surya’s Saturday is primarily a Telugu release and this time we are going for a slightly wider release in Tamil. Also, there is no comparison with RRR, Pushpa or Baahubali, I'm just a humble actor coming with a humble film.”
