Namashi Chakraborty opens up on addressing father Mithun by his first name

Namashi Chakraborty provided a positive update on the health of his father, veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty. According to him, Mithun's health has improved recently. Earlier this year, Mithun was hospitalised in Kolkata for treatment related to Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident, commonly known as a stroke.

Namashi, in an interview with Celebrania Studios, shared that when his father scolded him recently, he initially worried about his health. However, he realised that if his father was condemning him, it meant that he was in good health.

Namashi further revealed their unique family dynamic, stating that neither he nor his siblings, Mahaakshay, Dishani, and Ushmey, refer to their father as "dad." Instead, they share a more casual and friendly relationship, addressing him by his name, Mithun. He described their interaction as having a friendly banter, emphasizing that they've always maintained this informal rapport, viewing each other more as friends than traditional parent-child roles.

When questioned about the origin of this familial practice, Namashi disclosed that it was Mithun himself who initiated it. He explained, "Dad started it, he said please don’t call me papa. Just call me Mithun."

Namashi marked his debut earlier this year with 'Bad Boy', co-starring Amrin Qureshi. The film also marked the Bollywood debut of Amree, daughter of film producer Sajid Qureshi. Alongside Namashi and Amrin, the movie features Rajpal Yadav and Johnny Lever.

On the other hand, Mithun is set to appear in the fifth installment of the popular comedy franchise 'Housefull', led by Akshay Kumar. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film is rumored to hit theaters around Diwali next year. Mithun previously appeared in the second installment of the series. In addition to this comedy venture, Mithun has another project lined up for Christmas: his Bengali film 'Kabuliwala' is slated for release in theaters this December.
