Nagesh Kukunoor has a way of working with child artistes. He treats them like professional adults. After receiving an overwhelming response for '

Rockford

' (1996), the filmmaker is all set to release another film chronicling the lives of two children. It is about how celebrities impact and influence the lives of Indian fans. Talking to a daily, he said, 'I jokingly said after 'Rockford' that I will not do another film with children but after many years I broke the promise. To work with kid actors is not something I have a problem with, as I make sure I treat them as adults. I never treat them as kids. I explain the situation as it is. Some of these kids have worked before in advertisement or short films. They are conditioned to do really bad acting. They are mollycoddled and babied. They are treated as amateur artists. That de-training takes a bit of time. Once that gets done then we were off and running.'

The fact that in no part of the world, celebrities are reverred so much as they are in India, has prompted him to work on the subject of the celebrity-fan equation in the country. He states, 'I wanted to explore this mythology in a fun and endearing way which also made sense thematically.'
