Director Nagesh Kukunoor first trip to Ajmer proved holy for him.
The director, who was in Rajasthan recently for a vacation ended up going to Ajmer where the International Sufi Festival was going on. Though he didn’t know of the festival, it was a pleasant surprise for him when he reached the Dargah sharif and was blissfully greeted by a bunch of Hawaii’s, who were performing at the festival.

“I was on a trip to Rajasthan and it seemed like the perfect break for me because the moment I reached the Dargah, they were playing my favourite song ‘Bhar de joli’,” said Nagesh Kukunoor.” The International Sufi Festival 2011 took place from October 21 to October 27 in Ajmer amidst the presence of a host of international and Indian artists. To add to all this, after reaching Jaipur, the director left for Ajmer in a train. “I am fascinated with trains and so I chose to board a train instead of a car ride,” informs Nagesh.
