My Toughest Scene: Juhi Chawla

Stuck in a trench, with Sunny Deol...
My Toughest Scene: Juhi Chawla
I ‘ve done my share of dramatic and comedy scenes in my career, but thinking about my only action sequence, in Rahul Rawail’s Arjun Pandit in 1999, still gives me the shivers.
During a high-octane climax chase, Sunny Deol and I had to dodge the baddies by hiding in a three-feet trench under a railway track at a yard in Mahalaxmi.
We got inside the tiny space with a camera, placed by action-director Tinu Verma, who had worked extensively with Sunny in the past.

Even at that point, I didn’t exactly know what I would have to do, or I’d have probably run away.
The scene that while we were in that trench, a speeding coal train had to go on the tracks above us. We couldn’t move at all, and if I’d raised my head even a few inches, it would’ve been chopped off.
When the director called action, there I was, crouched and immobile in the hole with a train hurtling over my head. As it went past, I could see beams of light falling on us from between the coaches: one bogey, two, three, four... it seemed endless.
I just held on to Sunny and had left the rest to God. If I’m asked to do it again, I’ll probably say, ‘no thanks’.
