'My son is more like Ayushmann and daughter is more like me' - Tahira Kashyap Khurrana- Exclusive

Tahira Kashyap Khurrana made a confident debut as a feature film director with Sharmajee Ki Beti which starred names like Sakshi Tanwar, Divya Dutta and Saiyami Kher along with two teenage girls Vanshika Taparia and Arista Mehta. One of the major plots of the film is the mother-daughter relationship between the characters played by Sakshi and Vanshika.


In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Tahira opens up about her own daughter Varushka, who recently hit the headlines when she danced to Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s song ‘ Sher Khul Gaye ‘ from Fighter. She said , “ Every mother finds their children to be very sweet, so what can I say, but she has a mind of her own . I think my son is more like Ayushmann , he’s more into music , the daughter is more like me, she’s into reading and is very opinionated, in the sense she will be vocal.”


“When we were kids, we couldn’t say anything, had to eat whatever is in front of you, even if you don’t like. You couldn’t ask questions … my mom already has big eyes, and they would become even bigger if we asked something uncomfortable. I think as kids, our upbringing was very different, so with my children, of course, we teach them not to misbehave and respect elders, but at the same time, they can voice their opinion, they can tell me when they are comfortable or uncomfortable,” she added.


Tahira also shared that both her kids have seen her film and were constantly cheering for her during the screening.
