It’s always a welcome change to go on a holiday. For

actor

Mustafa Burmala his break to

Tunisia

was quite unplanned. “The plan was very impromptu. It was a solo trip for me, so I booked the tickets five hours before leaving for the trip. As I checked, I did not need any visa,” he says.
So, why Tunisia? “Two reasons. One, I am a backpack traveller and love exploring new places. Tunisia has not been explored much by a lot of people, so I thought this is the best and only chance to do that. I am more of a mountain person, but this place changed my perspective on beaches. It was too beautiful. Second, I have a few friends there so got a chance to meet them too and they showed me around,” states the ‘

Did he get a chance to try any new foods? “I generally follow a strict diet, but when I travel that goes for a toss and it's good because you get to try different cuisines. The most traditional dish in Tunisia I have tried was couscous. Made of

grains, topped with roasted chicken and spicy

sauce, it was lovely. Mustafa also took up water sports. “I did try a lot of water sports in the

Mediterranean Sea

, which was an outstanding experience for me. Learning how to surf was something new to me so it went quite well.”

Friendly folkMustafa also found the locals to be very friendly and helpful. “Language was an issue as they only spoke Arabic and French, but I was lucky enough because I had my friends around who spoke English,’ he says. He also picked up a few souvenirs to cart back home. “I did buy a lot of local stuff from Tunisia. I always pick up souvenirs from places that I have been to, mainly fridge magnets that I also give to my friends,” he states.

So many places to see…The

actor loves travelling. “I feel that it’s the best refreshment you can get for yourself. Exploring new places and meeting new people will make you grow as a person as you learn many new things from your experience and I believe everyone should do that once in a while,” he says. He does not go on a holiday that frequently. “I don’t take a break that often and when I am in Mumbai I tend to isolate myself from everyone for a while if I can’t travel. But when I do take a break, it has to be a long one. I have been to a lot of places around the world but still I have a lengthy list which needs to be fulfilled,” he ends.
