Mumbai police asked to attach properties of Lajja cast

KANPUR: A local court here has ordered Mumbai Police to comply with its orders on attachment of properties of the leading stars of Hindi film Lajja and its director Raj Kumar Santoshi in a case of criminal contempt of court and gave time upto November 26 to give a report on the matter.

kanpur: a local court here has ordered mumbai police to comply with its orders on attachment of properties of the leading stars of hindi film lajja and its director raj kumar santoshi in a case of criminal contempt of court and gave time upto november 26 to give a report on the matter. the properties of bollywood starts anil kapoor, jackie shroff, ajay devgan, rekha, madhuri dixit, manisha koirala and mahima chaudhry were ordered to be attached by additional district and sessions judge j p agrawal on thursday as they failed to appear before the court despite issuance of non-bailable warrants against them.

the stars are accused in a complaint by one ram swarup verma, a resident of bhavanipur village near here. the court, while directing the mumbai police to comply with the orders, posted the next hearing of the case to december 18. while issuing non-bailable warrants, the court had warned the accused that if they failed to appear before it on november 8, orders would be passed attaching their properties.
