The Maharashtrian mulgi has got a big break in Marathi cinema
Mugdha Godse in Sridevi’s shoes
She has practically wrapped the talkie portions of her latest venture, Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai, directed by Rumy Jaffrey.
And now, Mugdha Godse is getting ready to reprise Sridevi’s iconic role in the remake of Laadla. Producer Nitin Manmohan has decided to remake his Sridevi-Anil Kapoor starrer in Marathi.
Mugdha will obviously fill in Sridevi’s shoes and the rest of the cast will be decided once the final draft is prepared.

Nitin says, “Mugdha is the ideal choice for my Marathi version. She has the fiery quality the character shows through the first half, and can metamorphose into a coy girl as well.”
Mugdha is very excited about doing the cinematic version of The Taming of the Shrew and is prepping big time. Since she is currently riding high on Marathi subculture with her success as a judge on the reality show Marathi Paul Padte Pudhe, the trade feels Laadla will get the right eyeballs.
Award winning Marathi filmmaker Rajiv Patil will direct the remake. Shooting will commence in January 2012, once the production work for Gali Gali... is completed.
