'From the story to the execution, everything for the movie has been made in India, keeping our PM's vision in mind,' says Anish J S Mehta, one of the producers. The animation flick is based on the popular cartoon series that doles out a message with every story and has a huge fan following among kids. So, the studio behind it has left no stone unturned to create a benchmark in Indian animation with the first full-length 3D feature.

Deepa Sahi

, who has also produced the film, says, 'The best part about 'Motu Patlu ' King of Kings' is that it mixes entertainment with a message. In India, animation is considered to be a genre only for children but during the previews, we've seen adults clap louder than the kids. I'm proud it's made in India, has an Indian story and desi heroes.'

has created India's first homegrown animated franchise.

Anish JS Mehta

, one of the producers of the film, says, 'It's a proven success in its comic book and TV series avatars. Their merchandise is also a hit with kids, which is what motivated us to make a full-length 3D film. We are now in the middle of developing a 'Motu Patlu' game as well.'

He believes that the film's 3D effects will impress viewers across age groups. 'Indian kids identify with Motu Patlu's action-packed adventures, which are fuelled by a diet of hot samosas. We've also introduced Guddu, a lion, in the film. Motu Patlu's stories don't have Americans and Japanese saving the world from aliens. We plan to release a new instalment every year,' adds Anish.

'Given 'Motu Patlu's popularity on TV, it was logical to make it into a full-length film. India is ready to accept animation with indigenous content,' asserts Deepa Sahi, also a producer of the film.

Anu Sikka

, the executive producer and head of programming of a children's TV channel, on her part, explains, 'After more than 500 episodic stories and high-rated telefilms, we wanted the right story to take the brand to the next level. During a brainstorming session, we came up with the film's storyline, which can help children look beyond themselves.'

'Motu Patlu ' King of Kings' releases on October 14.
