The 8th Moonwhite Films International Film Festival (MWFIFF) 2025 was held at Mumbai’s Mukkti Auditorium, celebrating eight years of the festival. Padma Shri
Anup Jalota attended as chief guest and presenter, congratulating founder-director Devashish Sargam Raj on the milestone. Several film and music personalities were present, including Pandit Suvashit Raj, co-founder Shipra Raj, singer Suharsh Raj,
Dilraj Kaur and composer Vivek Prakash. The ceremony also paid tribute to cinema veterans such as Dharmendra, Manoj Kumar, Asrani, Madhumati, Pankaj Dheer and Satish Shah.
The evening featured musical performances by Sanjay Shangalu and the Jamsaaz Band, with renditions including Zaroorat. Singer Suharsh Raj also performed lines from his music video Kaafir Deewana.

During the event, Devashish Sargam Raj announced that he has signed an international film as a director, to be produced by New Zealand-based producer Anand Naidu, adding that details would be revealed later. International participation remained a highlight, with Russian filmmaker Evgeny Shmelev felicitated at the ceremony. Films honoured included Stranded Pearl (Feature Film – New Zealand), Nanak Chinta Mat Karo (Short Film – India), Khoj (Regional Short Film – India), Jules (International Short Film – USA), Marionette (Music Video Pop R&B – USA) and The Family Photo (International Animation Short Film – USA).
Speaking at the event, Anup Jalota said, “Devashish Sargam has successfully completed eight years of this festival, and I congratulate him wholeheartedly. The festival is growing bigger every year, and it is encouraging to see strong participation from international films as well. MWFIFF provides a valuable platform for short films.”
