‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’

Parineeti appeared in this rom-com, which starred Ranveer Singh as the con man. Although it has three other actresses, Parineeti's distinguishability in her role as Dimple Chaddha, who was bubbly, straightforward, and naive as the girl who fell for Ricky Bahl's tricks, established her uniqueness. Her comic timing is sharp, her ability to naturally hold a viewer's eye is impressive, and her expressiveness earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Clearly, she wouldn't lose her footing in Bollywood.

2/9

‘Ishaqzaade’

Parineeti had a lead role her first time out, and it gave her household name recognition. Portraying Zoya Qureshi, a rebellious girl with a political family, she was fiery, vulnerable, and believable. The intensity of the love story, further fueled by her chemistry with Arjun Kapoor as they fight off family rivalries, was definitely impressive. The film earned her a National Film Award—Special Mention, showing her to be one of Bollywood's brightest young stars.

3/9

‘Shuddh Desi Romance’

As a movie about urban India, Gayatri dealt with contemporary topics of love and commitment. It broke stereotypes regarding marriage and live-in relationships, while Parineeti's performance was a breath of fresh air. She maintained an appropriate sense of vulnerability and strength, making Gayatri a relatable and brave character to many viewers.

4/9

‘Hasee Toh Phasee’

As we all know, Parineeti provided one of her most celebrated performances playing the quirky and odd scientist Meeta. Her chemistry with Sidharth Malhotra melted hearts, but her ability to humanize an unconventional character gained her praise. Meeta is clearly one of Parineeti's most beloved characters.

5/9

‘Golmaal Again’

Adding freshness to the ensemble cast in Rohit Shetty's blockbuster family hit, Parineeti made it a priority to showcase her comedic side in a welcome return on a big commercial platform after a long gap. The mixing of horror and comedy further solidified the box office proposition.

6/9

‘Kesari’

In this historical war epic, Parineeti plays Jiwani Kaur, Havildar Ishar Singh's wife, played by Akshay Kumar. Although the role was short, she provided the narrative with emotional weight and poignancy and proved she could make her mark on a film even if her screen presence was limited.

7/9

‘The Girl on the Train’

This psychological thriller defines a pivotal moment in Parineeti's career. Playing the role of Mira Kapoor, an alcoholic wrapped up in a murder mystery, Parineeti has come a long way from her girl-next-door persona, tackling a character with layers and darkness. Critics praised the emotional depth Parineeti brought to her complex character and noted her detailed performance, calling it one of her most adventurous roles.

8/9

‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’

Parineeti made what many called her career-best performance as Sandeep Walia, whom the audience might feel in their bones, a woman who finds herself a victim of deception and her struggle for survival. She brought screen presence with raw vulnerability and an unyielding spirit. There was universal acclaim for her portrayal. The film reinforces Parineeti's place as an actor who excels in roles that are outside the confines of a conventional box.

9/9

‘Amar Singh Chamkila’

Parineeti starred opposite Diljit Dosanjh in Imtiaz Ali's much-lauded biographical drama titled Chamkila; she played Amarjot Kaur, wife and singing partner of Punjabi icon Amar Singh Chamkila. The critical and commercial success of the film is a milestone in her career, as she received a standing ovation from audiences for her performance, which was fulsome in emotionally vibrant storytelling.
