Mohanlal in Kargil

Mohanlal, the Malayalam super star will once again play the lead role of Major Mahadevan in his all new war film Kurukshetra.
It is the character of an Indian army Major he popularised through Keerthi Chakra (Aran in Tamil). Kurukshetra is being directed by Major Ravi, the man who did the original and tells the story of a soldier who brilliantly led his forces from the front against the Pakistan intruders in Kargil war.
The film has started rolling in Kargil on actual locations like the famous Tiger Hills where the 1999 war with Pakistan army men dressed as Jihadi's took place.
"I am shooting the entire film in the real location, including Drass, Tiger hills and other places to show the world what happened during the Kargil conflict and under what difficult conditions our soldiers won the war for us", said the film's director Major Ravi.
For the first time in Indian cinema there are scenes in the film showing Mohanlal sitting on the controversial Bofors cannon gun carriage, which ironically won the Kargil war for India!
