After Purab Kohli became a father to a daughter with his British fianc'e Lucy Payton, actor Mithun Purandare (
Mugdha Godse's ex) has fathered a child with his Canadian-Belgian lover, Anami Finnie. Mithun says,
'I've known Anami for three years. One day, she told me that she wanted a child with me and I agreed. We went through the legal process before the birth of Ayan, our child.' While he admits that having a child without getting married was easier as Anami comes from a different culture, he adds, 'All decisions pertaining to the child will be vested with his mother and I will fulfil my responsibilities as a father.' However, unlike Purab, who has confirmed that he will tie the knot officially next year, Mithun is averse to the idea of marriage. He explains, 'I've seen some seemingly solid marriages fall apart. And it's the child who bears the maximum brunt. I don't want my kid to go through that. What's more important is that the child knows who his parents are. Though I follow my heart, I also ensure that it's not at the cost of harming another person.' As for Mugdha knowing about his fatherhood, he smiles, 'Yes, she was aware of it.'
