’s filmmaker Babbar Subhash’s wife was rushed to a Mumbai hospital after suffering from intestinal lung disease.
While the 67-year-old is grappling with a life and death situation, the family has reportedly appealed for an only fundraised by Subhash’s daughter Swetha to accumulate a total amount of Rs 30 lakh required for the director’s wife’s treatment. She said in the online post, “each contribution is important.
The fundraiser has so far raised Rs 13,500 within a few hours, as per reports.
According to a news portal, Subhash who is currently 76, and his family is currently in a dire situation ever since the COVID-19 outbreak in India. Sources suggested that the director was in talks with a Hollywood production house for the remake of his iconic film ‘Disco Dancer’ with a fresh cast from Los Angeles. However, things took a different turn when the project was scrapped off, leaving the director in distress.

Previously, Subhash was all set to turn 'Disco Dancer' into a play. The musical was slated to be produced by the popular music director duo of Salim-Sulaiman. When contacted, B Subhash had confirmed the development, and told ETimes, "I have given the screenplay rights of the film to
Salim-Sulaiman and they are collaborating with Sa Re Ga Ma on it.''
Music director-turned-producer Salim Merchant, too, confirmed the development. "But due to the lockdown, rehearsals are on hold once everything opens up and the government gives us permission we will restart work on it," he informed. There's no development on the same front.
