’ director Jagan Shakti was hospitalized on January 25 and was said to be in a critical condition. It was earlier reported that the filmmaker was admitted to a city hospital for treatment and reports suggest that Jagan has been diagnosed with a clot in his brain.

on several films before marking his directorial debut last year with ‘Mission Mangal’. The filmmaker was reportedly socializing with friends when he collapsed and was rushed to a hospital. His family immediately rushed to Mumbai to be with him.

Jagan Shakti earned a lot of praise for August 2019 release ‘Mission Mangal’, which featured an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi. The film narrated the story of India’s Mars Orbiter Mission and focused on the team which worked on the assignment. After the massive success of ‘Mission Mangal’, Jagan Shakti was in talks with Akshay Kumar for a film titled 'Ikka' which was said to be a remake of 2014 Tamil blockbuster 'Kaththi'. The filmmaker had told PTI, "It's still in the discussion process, it's not finalised who will do it. The writing is done. We will get to know who's doing what because Akshay sir is also busy. So nothing is finalised. No star cast is locked. Akshay sir wanted to see what it is, but again, it's all about dates and other things which need to be figured out. As soon as it's all fixed, I will let everyone know."
