'Mismatched' fame Prajakta Koli gets emotional recalling her parents breaking her piggy bank during the financial crisis

Prajakta Koli became emotional as she reflected on a difficult moment from her childhood when her parents, Manoj and Archana Koli, had to break her piggy bank to manage their finances.

Speaking on the YouTube channel of Yuvaa, Prajakta recounted the incident that occurred when she was 12 years old. She shared how her parents sat her down lovingly after she returned from school or tuition, explaining that they were going through a financial struggle and needed to break her piggy bank.

Prajakta recalled how her parents reassured her that they would buy her a new one soon, and while the situation was emotionally significant to her now, she didn’t remember it as a sad event back then. Reflecting on the moment as an adult, Prajakta asked her father if that period had been tough for him, especially given how she understood the struggles now.

Her father, Manoj, responded by explaining that during that time, he had invested a large sum of money—around ₹11 lakh—into a multi-level marketing company, which later went bankrupt. This left him in a financial crisis, and despite trying his best to seek help from relatives and friends, he couldn’t manage to get any support.
As a last resort, he broke Prajakta’s piggy bank, which helped them cover the expenses for that month. Manoj shared that, despite the hardships, the incident marked a turning point where Prajakta’s support became crucial in managing the family’s finances.

Prajakta’s journey began as an RJ in Mumbai, but she later transitioned to YouTube, and then in 2020, she ventured into filmmaking with a short film called ‘Khayali Pulao’ and appeared in ‘Mismatched.’ Prajakta also featured in the 2022 film ‘Jugjugg Jeeyo’ and now there is no looking back.
