Minissha Lamba's bond with Punjabi language is deep. Though she lost touch with it long back, the actress is working hard to sharpen her skills with her mother tongue. Minissha Lamba is working hard to brush up her Punjabi skills. She's not taking formal classes but has come up with her own way of gaining knowledge
Chaste Punjabi has always caught actress Minissha Lamba's fancy.
The effervescent beauty was born in a Punjabi family and now feels like something is missing, as she cannot speak her mother tongue. The reasons for that are frequent relocation and peer factor.
"I am a proud Punjabi, but the irony is that I can't speak the language. Since I have an army background, my family was constantly on the move and I lost track of the tongue," she says. This did not dampen her spirits and the pretty lass is working to improve her fluency. "Yes, I am learning its nuances. I am not taking formal classes. I have come up with my own way of gaining knowledge. It involves telling my family and friends to interact with me only in Punjabi," she says. She works on her accent when she gets time on the sets. She also listens to hardcore Punjabi music to get her tone right.
Sources say Minissha is close to her roots. She may have traveled the world, but the actress still prefers the cuisine from Punjab with paranthas being her favourite. Having worked in dozens of Hindi films, Minissha is game for Punjabi flicks. "I haven't got any good offer, otherwise I won't have refused," she says.
With the actress putting in a serious effort, it seems she will start speaking the language soon. "I am keeping my fingers crossed," she signs off.
