Meet Aditya Chopra: The man behind 'DDLJ' whose net worth is much bigger than 'Mardaani 3' star Rani Mukerji
Aditya Chopra dons many roles starting from being a film director to the Managing director of Yash Raj Films. He is also the son of legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra.
Aditya became famous as a director with his first film 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's film changed Hindi cinema's narrative on romantic entertainers.
He slowly moved away from direction. Aditya focused more on building Yash Raj Films into a massive studio. He controls one of the biggest film banners in India but stays away from the spotlight and rarely appears in public.
Aditya Chopra’s net worth is much higher than his wife Rani Mukerji’s. The 'Mardaani 3' star's net worth as of January 2026 is reportedly estimated to be around Rs 200 crore to Rs 206 crore and the star earned her wealth through films, brand endorsements, and long years of acting.
Aditya Chopra’s estimated net worth is around Rs 7,200 crore to Rs 7,500 crore as reported by News X website. This comes from Yash Raj Films, film production, distribution, studios, and long-term business deals.
Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra got married on April 21 (2014) and the wedding was a very private affair which was held in the Italian countryside. There were no big parties and no media presence which matched Aditya’s nature perfectly as he has always stayed away from public events and social gatherings.
Rani spoke openly about why she fell in love with Aditya in an old interview with News 18. She said, "The reason why I fell in love with my husband was that he is extremely private. After being in the industry for so many years he was one person I respected. It is very difficult to respect people in the fraternity as you know the inside out of everything. So Adi was one of those rare people who I respected and who I still respect because of his ethos, work pattern, and the way he is. Because I am private myself it makes us a good couple because we are very happy going nowhere."
Rani also shared how Aditya being private actually keeps their relationship strong. She explained how different he is from other filmmakers. She said, "For Adi I feel if he was to be like Karan Johar I don't think I'd have fallen in love with him. Karan is everywhere he is so social and he is the life of a party. Every day he is doing something or the other."
She added, "The thing with me is that I need my family at home. I am a very family-oriented person. I would go mad if my husband was working; as it is half the time he is at the studio. Imagine him having a social life beyond his films. Half the time I would not get to see him. I am very happy and content that he (Aditya Chopra) is not a social person. After his work, he comes back home to me."
Recently, Rani appeared on The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 4 to promote her upcoming film 'Mardaani 3'. When Kapil asked, “Jo insaan generations ko romance sikha chuka hai… usne Rani ko propose kaise kiya? (The man who has taught romance to generations… how did he propose to Rani?)” Rani smiled and replied, “Woh sab cheezein TV ke liye thodi na hai…(“Those things aren’t really meant for TV.”)” Kapil joked back, “Jo jo TV pe bata sakte ho woh bolo… saari toh nahi bol sakte.(“Say whatever you can say on TV… you can’t say everything anyway.”)”
Rani recently completed 30 years in Hindi cinema on January 12 this year. Rani has the most-awaited 'Mardaani 3. The trailer for the film was unveiled recently and it received much love from the audiences. One fan wrote, "that line ' IN A COUNTRY THAT WORSHIPS GODDESSES' hits hard." Another one wrote, "Rani mukherji in other films outstanding but in mardaani she is mind blowing ."
The crime thriller will release on January 30.
