After the Me Too movement became a prominent force in the west, the movement against sexual harassment has found its way to India in full force. Many celebs in B-town have since been asked to step down from their roles after several women accused them of harassment. However, actress Payal Rohatgi feels that when she spoke up against director Dibakar Banerjee, things didn’t go so well for her.

As reported by Mid-Day, Payal said that when she spoke about the director in the open almost seven years ago, she was denied work in the industry. She also pointed out that while she was pushed to do TV and stage shows, Dibakar went on to do six films and is still directing ‘

’. However, she expressed hope that in the wake of the Me Too movement, some action will be taken against Dibakar. She added, "I don’t know if YRF will take a stand. YRF knows about Dibakar."

For the uninitiated, Payal had alleged that the filmmaker tried to take advantage of her in exchange of a role in one of his upcoming movies.
