'Mastiii 4': Amrita Rao’s 2021 BTS featuring Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Genelia from 'Masti' resurfaces

'Mastiii 4' hits the screen today, and the excitement for it, along with nostalgia for the original film 'Masti' is at an all-time high. People are delighted to welcome back Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani for the first time in nine years, and it's got them reflecting on a fun moment from 2021 when real star Amrita Rao (and social media queen) shared a nostalgia-inducing throwback from the production.

Amrita Rao’s 2021 throwback that sparked nostalgia

On the 17th anniversary of 'Masti' in 2021, Amrita shared a one-of-a-kind photo from behind the scenes of the film with the whole cast and crew. The cast included Ajay Devgn, Genelia D’Souza, Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Lara Dutta and Tara Sharma. Amrita shared in her post, "Masti anniversary today! My first silver anniversary film and by far, the CLEANEST adult comedy (sic). She also shared a few short clips of some of the scenes from the film. Amrita, played Anchal, who was Vivek Oberoi's character's wife.

From 'Masti' to 'Mastiii 4'

The popularity of the first film resulted in two sequels titled 'Grand Masti' and 'Great Grand Masti'. Now, almost nine years later, the trio returns in 'Mastiii 4;' Riteish is back as Amar Saxena, Vivek as Meet Mehta, and Aftab as Prem Chawla. It also stars Elnaaz Norouzi, Nargis Fakhri, Arshad Warsi and Natalia Janoszek. As before, the story follows three men who are trapped in boring marriages and look to add some spice to their lives. The franchise already has a massive fan base, which is why there is so much excitement for the latest film.

Milap Zaveri on working with the trio again

During a discussion with Bollywood Hungama, director Milap Zaveri shared how good fun it was to get Riteish, Vivek and Aftab back together, saying, "It was a lot of fun. Unki umar aur kamar nazar hi nahin aati hai when they are together. They are naturally funny. It felt like when we made Masti in 2004. When they three are together it is like TNT, they are the Amar Akbar Anthony of comedy. The friendship they have made over the years comes across on the screen."
