Masaan director Neeraj Ghaywan and writer Varun Grover donate their National Award Winnings to Maharashtra drought relief

Joining Nana Patekar, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar in helping the drough affected villagers of Maharashtra are Neeraj Ghaywan and Varun Grover of

fame. The duo, both of whom won Nationa Awards this year for Masaan will be donating their award money to the effort.


Neeraj Ghaywan: Never expected National Award in wildest dreams

Neeraj, who is in Delhi after his National Award win said they made the decision to give away the money soon after the award was announced, "I was apprehensive talking about it, and we just wanted to donate without announcing it on social media.But Varun (Grover) convinced me that we need to tell people so others can do something about it."
The duo donated a lakh between them to the cause. "I know its not a big amount, but still whatever we can contribute to the effort, we did and we hope others can too."
Varun too took to Twitter to share the news. He wrote, "Am donating all of it (INR 50k) & combined with @ghaywan's it'll be INR 1L. We'll find a credible channel so that it reaches the most needy."
