Marital comedy was an unusual experience for Vinay

That’s Vinay Pathak’s advice, on the eve of the release of his latest comedy
Marital comedy was an unusual experience for Vinay
Vinay Pathak returns to the screen yet again with a rib-tickling entertainer, “Tere Mere Phere”, which deals with the eternal emotion of love. Set against the Himalayas, this is Vinay’s most visually alluring film. “I had to forgo my acrophobia. This one is my ‘highest’ ever”, he grins sheepishly.
The film is already getting rave reviews. Says critic Komal Nahta, “Deepa Sahi has a flair for comedy and it shows on screen in her debut directorial venture.

Even her exaggerated comic scenes work well. Making people laugh is never easy, but Deepa makes you forget that this is her first film.” The film explores the simple question – can love and marriage co-exist peacefully? The story is a comic take on a couple, who have a perfect love affair and a perfect marriage, and set out on a dream honeymoon on a motor home, driving through the Himalayas, and then the ‘marriage syndrome’ strikes! How the love-lives of a Himalayan simpleton and his ‘pahadi mirch’, and this boisterous couple, intertwine, and how the two have lessons to learn is what the film explores.
A marital comedy was an unusual experience for Vinay. “You have to humour the sorrows in life”, says he. Deepa Sahi beams, “Making an entertaining comedy is like marriage. You need the right ingredients in the right amount, and at the right time. We managed all. The rest is for the audiences to enjoy.” Produced by Ketan Mehta and Anup Jalota, “Tere Mere Phere” releases worldwide on September 30, and is distributed by Open Door Films Limited.
