Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Jugnuma’ to hit theatres on September 12; film shines at global festivals

Manoj Bajpayee will be seen in the much-awaited magical-realism drama '', releasing in theatres across India on September 12. Internationally titled 'The Fable', the film is directed by Raam Reddy, who earlier won a National Award for his debut Kannada film Thithi in 2016. The film also features a strong ensemble cast and promises to offer audiences a unique and powerful cinematic experience.

Jugnuma’s festival success

'Jugnuma' has already made its mark on the international stage. The film premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and went on to win Best Film at the Leeds International Film Festival. It also received a Special Jury Prize at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.

Jugnuma storyline

Set in the late 1980s, 'Jugnuma' tells the story of Dev (played by Manoj Bajpayee), who discovers mysteriously burnt trees in his fruit orchards in the Himalayas. As he struggles to stop the fires, more outbreaks occur, leading him to face not only the mystery but also hidden truths about himself and his family. The film also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Priyanka Bose, Tillotama Shome, Hiral Sidhu, and Awan Pookot in key roles.

He is keeping busy with a strong lineup of projects. He has worked in 'Bhaiyya Ji', 'Despatch', a thriller directed by Kanu Behl. He was also starred in
'Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout', where he reprised his role as ACP Avinash Verma, and has 'The Family Man 3' coming up, one of the most awaited web series where he plays Srikant Tiwari. Apart from these, Bajpayee has worked in 'Bandaa 2', following the critical acclaim of Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai. With this slate, Bajpayee continues to balance films and OTT, showcasing his versatility across genres.
