Manoj Bajpayee talks about criticism around Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal': If you don’t want to watch it, then don’t

Actor Manoj Bajpayee, who was last seen in ‘Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout’, has shared a list of recently released films that have impressed him. Speaking with Pinkvilla, he expressed his enjoyment of current releases, citing a few well-liked Hindi and other language films among them. Manoj praised the films he considered ‘entertaining and original’, including Ram Charan and Jr. NTR's ‘RRR’, Yami Gautam's ‘Article 370’, Ranbir Kapoor's ‘Animal’ and Rishab Shetty's ‘Kantara’.


He said, “Mujhe Kantara bahut acchi lagi. Kantara mujhe uss karan se bhi achhi lagi ki wahan ke ritual, wahan ka jo faith, aur waha se jo hai ek badiya mainstream film banayi. Kantara mere liye reference point hai.” He continued by saying that, for similar reasons, he found SS Rajamouli's ‘RRR’, ‘Article 370’ and ‘Animal’ to be good.


Manoj Bajpayee also discussed the controversy around the Ranbir Kapoor film ‘Animal’, which has a number of scenes that have drawn harsh condemnation from the internet, calling it "problematic." He said, “I am very clear if many people disagree or don’t like a film, what’s wrong with that? The film is released, does its business, and moves on. The money goes into the producer’s pocket; let them take it; they invested in the movie.”


He further added, “If you don’t want to watch it, then don’t. If you disagree with something, it’s better not to watch it, but don’t create trouble for the movie. You will be only encouraging a bad notion by doing so, what if others hinder your work in the same way? There should be open discourse without calls for bans or protests.”


On the work front, Manoj was most recently seen in the OTT film ‘Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout’. He also received much-appreciation for his Netflix series ‘Killer Soup’. He has many interesting projects in the pipeline as he will be next seen in the films ‘The Fable’, ‘Despatch’ and ‘Bhaiyya Ji’. He will also be starring in the third season of Raj & DK's web series ‘The Family Man’.
