Manoj Bajpayee shared his transformative journey at Delhi University, expressing how the experience exposed him to a whole new world. Hailing from a small town in Bihar, he credited DU for instigating significant changes in his life. During his initial days, Manoj faced amusement from fellow students due to his limited English proficiency, but he embraced the mockery with a self-deprecating attitude.


While talking to Indian Express, Manoj highlighted his sense of urgency to adapt to urban behavior patterns and education, feeling the need to reshape himself quickly. Despite being ridiculed for his English, he entertained his roommates with his imperfect spoken English, considering it a learning process.

Recalling a phone call from an old roommate, who was initially critical of his English skills, Manoj revealed that the same person later acknowledged his remarkable progress, expressing regret for underestimating him. The actor emphasized that it took several years to reach his desired level of fluency.
