We had earlier reported that
Taapsee Pannu will play the leading role in the prequel of
Neeraj Pandey's 'Baby' and
Akshay Kumar will be doing an extended cameo in it. To be helmed by
Shivam Nair, the movie, titled 'Meera' after Taapsee's character, will have a fresh cast. Interestingly, her character was called Priya in the 2015 action thriller.
Says a source, 'While
Manoj Bajpayee and
Prithviraj have been roped in for pivotal roles, one more actor is yet to be cast. How Taapsee's character becomes an agent forms the crux of this story, thus leading to what unfolded in Baby.' When contacted, the actress said, 'I play the titular role in this action thriller and I'm undergoing training in martial arts to prepare for the action scenes.'
