Mandira issues apology for naming dogs
MUMBAI: The recent controversy on Mandira Bedi naming her dogs Sardar Ruginder Singh Bedi and Buster Upadhyay Kaushal has reached Mandira’s ears and the actress is shocked at the reaction.
When asked about the case filed against her, she claimed that she had absolutely no intention of hurting any sentiments and respected the Sikh community and her religion.

She had not even changed her own name even after marriage, and was proud to be a Bedi. To stop the issue going any further, Mandira has issued the following statement:
"I would like to clarify that I have only called my dogs by those names out of affection. I belong to the Sikh community and am proud to be a Sikh. The purpose to call my dogs with those names was by no means to hurt the religious sentiments of my community or my husband’s community. I would like to apologize if I have inadvertently hurt anyone and would never ever refer to my dogs with those names again. Their names hence forth will be only Roger and Buster. Please do not take this any further for I regret to have done it and would never ever do this again."
Thank you,
Mandira Bedi
It can only be hoped that it satisfies any party who feels that she has been disrespectful to any religion.
