But while most celebs choose to talk about it to create awareness, very few get a chance to be involved in a cause that they believe in. But Manava Naik who is currently seen in Teen Bahuraniyan and Baa Bahu Aur Baby, is very vocal about her feelings against child labour.
Recently when she went for a trip to Lonavla, Manava was shocked to see a young boy doing a tedious job. And when she found that it was a very meager amount he was working for, she felt angry.
She went up to the employer and asked him if he was aware child labour was a crime, to which he replied the boy was working on his own will. And though Manava’s warning may not have made a difference she says, “I don’t know if one person can really make a difference, but one should speak up when you see something wrong. I voiced my opinion because I saw that the employer was exploiting the kid,” she says. Manava has always been actively involved with child welfare. Her family runs a social organisation which is managed by her mother. “I have been involved with such issues since childhood. I used to take part in plays and have seen how it functions from close. I am well aware of children’s rights and what should not be happening,” says Manava.
