Manasi Scott on giving younger generation a chance through her shows
Singer and songwriter Manasi Scott is a strong advocate for giving younger talent a chance to shine. During her recent live performance in Mumbai, she not only introduced fresh faces but also provided a platform for emerging singers to showcase their skills.
She explains, “Over a decade ago, when I began hosting ticketed public concerts with complete creative control, I made a promise to myself to give back to the industry. I wanted to help as many people as possible break into the music world. If I saw potential in someone, I made sure they had a chance to perform. Collaborating with other artists has always been part of my journey, and many of my releases feature new talents.”
Talking about putting together, The Manasi Scott Experience, she shares, “I have to thank the venue partners for the title, and my incredible band and team for dedicating their time, energy, and belief in me to bring this vision to life. I knew I wanted to perform songs from my childhood and tell my story. I scripted everything, composed original music specifically for the show, and made sure to pay tribute to Mumbai. We came together to make it happen.”
The show featured Aadya, the son of Poonam Mahajan, and Karan, the son of director Ken Ghosh. On the duo, Manasi says, “Aadya is just starting his journey, and with the right effort, he could go far. Karan has been working hard for years and is exceptional. He’s been part of my band since our first show together a year ago.”
In addition to her music career, Manasi has also ventured into acting, appearing in films like Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and Bhaag Johnny. She says, “I’m open to all kinds of work that come my way. Acting is something I truly enjoy, and I have several upcoming movies and web series that I’ve been a part of.”
