Addressing mediapersons here, Veera, director of Karthigai, disclosed that they planned to now complete the movie by replacing Malavika with another actress.
"The producer has taken the decision to replace Malavika with another actress and release the movie by the end of August," he said. Responding to the allegations levelled by the actress against the producer, he said, " I can't believe that a man would misbehave with a person in the family way. There has been no record of the producer misbehaving with others." Claiming that Malavika was being a little cautious about her health condition as this was her first pregnancy and that he could understand her concern, the director said this movie ���is like my first child and so, even I am concerned about it."
Thanking Sarath Kumar, Radha Ravi, and Natesan, all office-bearers of the Nadigar Sangam, for their efforts, he said, ���We are thankful to Sarath Kumar and Radha Ravi for their efforts in trying to resolve the issue.��� They were in touch with her from 10.30 in the morning till 2.30 in the afternoon regarding this issue, he added.Pointing out that the total cost of the movie was around four-and-a-half crores, he said the Malavika part of the film, which cost around Rs 75 lakhs, would be reshot. The producer, he disclosed, had taken the decision to meet the actress in a court of law. Vikramadithya, Sri Hari, Suman, Samiksha and Rekha are all acting in the film, the music for which has been composed by music director Deva.
