Malaika Arora's father's cremation to take place at Hindu Crematorium in Santa Cruz on September 12
In a deeply tragic turn of events, Anil Mehta, the father of actresses Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora, has passed away. The incident occurred yesterday, (September 11) when he reportedly jumped from the balcony of his residence in Mumbai's Bandra. The Mumbai Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
According to the recent development, the cremation will be held at the Hindu crematorium in Santa Cruz tomorrow (September 12) at 11 a.m.
The Arora family released an official statement regarding this devastating event a few hours ago. In a deeply emotional post on Instagram, Malaika Arora shared a monochrome note to express her profound sorrow. The note featured a black-and-white photograph of her late father and read:
“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock from this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time.”
Malaika also emphasized the need for privacy during this challenging period, stating, “We appreciate your understanding, support, and respect. With gratitude, Joyce, Malaika, Amrita, Shakeel, Arhaan, Azaan, Rayyan, Casper, Axl, Duffy & Buddy - Anil Kuldip Mehta 22/02/1962-11/09/2024.”
In the midst of their grief, Malaika Arora's ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan, was seen arriving at the family home to offer support.
The loss has brought together numerous family members and industry personalities who have gathered to pay their respects. Notable figures present at the residence include designers Sabyasachi and Vikram Phadnis, as well as Salma Khan, Salim Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Sohail Khan, Kim Sharma, Seema Sajdeh, Arhaan Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Neha Dhupia, Angad Bedi, Sophie Choudry, and Arbaaz Khan.
