Making music

Singer Monali Thakur talks to CT about her forthcoming Europe tour with Adnan Sami.
Making music
Shes making music and with great elan. Bollywood too has accepted her with open arms. The latest on Monali Thakurs front is that the singer is on board for a Europe tour with Adnan Sami that kickstarts in October.
Back in the city for a couple of programmes, Monali Thakur gets into a peppy mode, talking about whats keeping her busy.
Ask her about her forthcoming projects and Monali rules out the possibility of a film in the coming months.
1x1 polls
Ive decided to go easy after Krishnakanter Will. I know the reviews of the film werent that flattering, but then, my work was appreciated.
The best compliment has however, come from Rituparno Ghosh, who said that he liked my work. I would love to be part of one of his films, says Monali, flashing a confident smile. A lot of offers came my way, but I
didnt find anything interesting, she continues in the same vein.
With films now much down the priority list, its obvious whats taking up most of her time. And the Zara zara touch me girl is getting all the right offers. Up next is Golmaal Returns, where my song is most probably featured on Kareena Kapoor. In the pipeline are many others, gushes Monali. But apart from films, its the Europe tour that the singer is looking forward to.

There are a lot of shows lined up and Im happy to be sharing the stage with a talent like Adnan Sami. Earlier, I had been part of an Indian Idol tour, she quips. The singer is also working on her album, but isnt too sure about its date of release. Ive composed a few numbers but this isnt a good time to release an album. Talks are on with people from the music industry whether a few songs could be used in films. Nothing has been finalised as yet.
Work alright. But what does the young talent from the city do when her hands arent full? Im not a party animal. But I love hanging around with friends.Play on, girl.
