Kartik Aaryan starrer 'Tu Hai Aashiqui' has been in the news ever since it was formally announced. The film was also in the news after several claims surfaced stating that it is the remake of 1981 film 'Baseraa'.

Now, Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited (SCIPL) has made it clear through their communication that their upcoming film, tentatively titled 'Tu Hai Aashiqui/Tu Hi Aashiqui Hai,' is not based on, a remake of, or an adaptation of the film 'Baseraa,' produced by Rose Movies.

Rose Movies accepts this assurance from SCIPL. However, they want to inform the public that any unauthorized use of the intellectual property from 'Baseraa,' including making a remake, adaptation, or any related work, is illegal without obtaining proper permissions from Rose Movies. If anyone is involved in such unauthorized actions, they will face legal consequences, including civil and criminal proceedings.

The film 'Baseraa,' featuring Rakhee, Poonam Dhillon, Rekha, and Shashi Kapoor in prominent roles, was directed by Ramesh Talwar and produced by the late Ramesh Behl. The family of Ramesh Behl has asserted ownership rights over the film and has stated that 'Aashiqui 3' cannot utilize any intellectual properties from 'Baseraa' without their explicit permission. Consequently, 'Aashiqui 3' has altered its title to 'Tu Hai Aashiqui' in response to these concerns.
