Makar Sankranti MEMORY: When 'Mrs. Deshpande' fame Madhuri Dixit Nene shared RARE family throwback
Madhuri Dixit Nene marked Makar Sankranti in 2019 by sharing a family throwback on Instagram. She found the old photo while scrolling through her phone and decided to post it. The snapshot shows her standing with sons Arin and Raayan Nene from their younger years, with kites visible behind them. Fans responded quickly and praised the post on social media.
She added that Arin balanced creativity with academics. “Even in school, he has done music as minor and CS engineering as the major,” she shared, revealing that he has graduated and is now working at Apple. She also said, “He produces his own music… and is currently involved in projects related to noise cancellation.”
Her younger son Raayan has followed a different route. Born in 2005, he is studying at USC, where he is pursuing interests in science and technology. “The younger one is a STEM guy. He is into technology and engineering, math, he is amazing though,” Dixit told Mid-day.
When asked if she kept her children away from films, she was direct. “I didn’t really keep them away. I have taken them when they wanted to come with me, and if they didn’t, I respected that.”
While Dixit continues to work across films and OTT, including her series 'Mrs. Deshpande', her sons are building lives outside the spotlight. The photo remains a simple marker of time moving forward.
A picture found by chance
The ‘Tezaab’ actress shared the throwback on Instagram during the festival, giving followers a glimpse of a simple family moment. She posted the photo with a caption, “Just saw this old picture while scrolling through my phone gallery and it brought a smile on my face! Can't put in words how much I love celebrating festivals with my kids and family. Wishing you all a Happy Makar Sankranti. Have a great time with your loved ones and may you all stay blessed forever.” The candid shot shows her with her sons when they were much younger, likely clicked during a Makar Sankranti celebration.Time filling in the details
The actress married Dr. Shriram Madhav Nene in 1999. Their elder son, Arin, was born in 2003, followed by Raayan in 2005. Speaking to Mid-day, Dixit spoke openly about the paths her children have chosen. About Arin, she said, “The older guy had some inklings of maybe wanting to be in movies, but I think his passion is music. So, he produces his music and he does all that.”She added that Arin balanced creativity with academics.
